An engineer friend of mine proudly showed me a brochure she'd designed and asked for my opinion. I was so torn - not wanting to hurt her feelings but also not able to lie because of my professional integrity. I wasn't very popular for a while until she admitted to me later that the printer she's taken it to suggested she use a design service next time!
